Buddina is a business district suburb of the Sunshine Coast.  The eastern half of Buddina fronts the Pacific Ocean, with a long stretch of beaches, whilst the western half of the suburb is a canal neighbourhood.

Buddina includes the business district of the Kawana Waters urban centre. The eastern half of Buddina fronts the Coral Sea with a long stretch of beaches, whilst the western half of the suburb is a canal neighbourhood.

In 1977 a fatal shark attack was reported on Buddina Beach.

A notable feature of Buddina is the Kawana Shoppingworld shopping centre, which is one of the largest shopping centres on the Sunshine Coast and features over 100 stores including Big W, Woolworths and Coles.

Beaches, parklands and Esplanade

Kawana Shoppingworld consists of 110 stores, making it the second-largest regional shopping centre on the Sunshine Coast. The centre was originally opened in 1979 and has since undergone four refurbishments, most recently being the $25,000,000 redevelopment in 2002, in which a new food court was developed, along with the addition of more than 20 specialty stores and refurbishments throughout the centre. It is also one of the first shopping centres in Queensland to include a Big W discount department store, which underwent a transformation during the 2002 refurbishment. Other stores in the centre include Woolworths and Bi-Lo supermarkets and a JB Hi-Fi electrical and entertainment store. The centre also consists of over 1700 car parking spaces and the Kawana Bus Station.

Buddina is a beach community with a good mix of residential property including low-set brick and tile homes, building units, prestige properties with ocean views or located in the canal development shared with the neighbouring suburb of Minyama. As a small coastal suburb there is very little vacant land left in Buddina. Buddina residents are well catered for with Kawana Shoppingworld, Buddina Primary school and the Kawana Waters Surf Life Saving Club at Buddina Beach. Its beaches, parklands and esplanade are popular attractions for local residents and visitors to the Sunshine Coast. Buddina Beach runs the full length of the suburb and is the northern part of the 10km beach that extends from Point Cartwright to Currumundi Beach in the south.

Point Cartwright is located at the mouth of the Mooloolaba River and includes a man-made rock wall. A small secluded beach on the other side of Beacon Lighthouse reserve at Point Cartwright offers a great fishing spot and surfing for the experienced only. An off-the leash dog area, showers and toilets can also be found at Point Cartwright.
