Beaches, Currimundi Lake and parklands
Wurtulla is located close to beaches, Currimundi Lake and parklands. This densely populated, surfside suburb lies within the Kawana Waters precinct, about halfway between the Caloundra city centre and Mooloolaba. Kawana Waters is a virtual island bordered by bushland, hinterland and coastline. The area boasts the Sunshine Coast's second largest shopping centre, Kawana Shopping World, and is one of Queensland's fastest growing residential zones. Local tourist attractions include the Bulcock Beach boardwalk, the Air Museum and the replica of Cook's Endeavour. Wurtulla beach is patrolled from September to April. The excellent fishing conditions make fishing a popular pursuit in this area.
